Do I need a sales call to try BuildDue?
Getting started

No. Create a private company account and begin a 30-day Pro trial without a card or sales call. Upload your existing CSV and test the workflow with your own project data.

Do I have to use a BuildDue CSV template?
CSV import

No. Upload the CSV your company already uses. BuildDue detects the header row, automatically matches common construction billing columns, previews the rows, and asks for confirmation when a match is uncertain.

What happens when automatic column matching is uncertain?
CSV import

BuildDue blocks the import instead of guessing. It names the missing or conflicting field, suggests likely columns with confidence levels, identifies affected source rows, and reruns validation after the correction.

Can BuildDue import CSV files with title rows above the headers?
CSV import

Yes. The importer searches the opening rows for the most likely header line and shows the detected row before importing.

Does BuildDue calculate retainage across multiple billing periods?
Billing

Yes. Prior completed work and prior retainage are stored separately so the next period calculates only the current retainage change and does not withhold the cumulative amount twice.

Can I roll a pay application into the next billing period?
Billing

Yes. BuildDue carries forward prior completed work and retainage while resetting current work, stored materials, payments, attachments, and submission dates.

Does BuildDue generate official AIA forms?
Documents

No. BuildDue creates original, BuildDue-branded progress billing summaries and schedule-of-values details. It does not reproduce official AIA forms, seals, protected wording, or layouts.

Can I attach lien waivers, invoices, and stored-material backup?
Documents

Yes. PDF, image, CSV, and XLSX documents can be attached to the related company, project, and pay application record.

What does BuildDue Pro cost?
Subscriptions

BuildDue Pro is designed at $99 per month or $990 per year and includes three users and up to 25 active projects.

What does BuildDue Office cost?
Subscriptions

BuildDue Office is designed at $179 per month or $1,790 per year and includes ten users, unlimited active projects, company-wide approval workflows, and expanded controls.

What happens if a payment fails?
Subscriptions

The company account becomes read-only. Existing records and prior downloads remain available, while new projects, imports, edits, and document generation are restricted until billing is restored.

Can multiple people use one company account?
Team

Yes. Each company has separate data and memberships. Roles include owner, administrator, project manager, accountant, and viewer.

What can a viewer do?
Team

A viewer can inspect company records but cannot create, edit, delete, upload, approve, invite users, or change billing settings.

Can approval workflows be configured?
Approvals

Yes. Office accounts can define role-based review steps and minimum application amounts. Each decision is recorded in activity and audit history.

Is each company’s data separated?
Security

Yes. Aurora records, company memberships, plan entitlements, documents, recovery exports, and audit activity are scoped by organization. Server-side role checks prevent one company from selecting another company’s workspace.

Does BuildDue store credit card numbers?
Security

No. Stripe Checkout and the Stripe customer portal handle card data. BuildDue stores subscription and entitlement identifiers only.

How is company data backed up?
Reliability

Aurora keeps automated point-in-time backups and deletion protection. BuildDue also creates throttled workspace recovery snapshots, while S3 versioning protects uploaded documents. CloudWatch monitors the application, database, proxy, queues, background jobs, and load balancer.

Are uploaded files scanned?
Security

In production, new files remain unavailable until GuardDuty Malware Protection for S3 scans them and applies a clean status. Files with a threat, failed scan, unsupported scan, or pending scan are not served by BuildDue.

Does BuildDue have an API?
API

The application includes versioned v1 endpoints and organization-aware request handling for projects, pay applications, and workspace metadata. The production application routes are protected by Cognito at the load balancer, and broader partner API credentials can be added without changing the core tenant model.

Do I need QuickBooks or Procore integration to start?
Integrations

No. BuildDue is designed to work beside existing systems using CSV import and document upload. Deeper integrations can be added after the workflow proves value.

What happens when the 30-day trial ends?
Billing

The company workspace becomes read-only until a license is activated. Existing billing records remain visible during the retention window, while new projects, edits, uploads, document generation, and automated emails are blocked. Unlicensed trial uploads are removed after the configured 90-day retention period.

Will I need implementation help?
Support

Most small companies should be able to start through the guided trial, automatic import review, searchable FAQ, and in-product explanations. Office customers can receive assisted data import.
